Young Destinites will be back in school on Monday. Here is the skinny on supply lists, orientation times, bus routes and school meal prices.

The first holiday in sight for Okaloosa County schools is Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.

Destin Elementary School
DES’s kindergarten orientation is on Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. First through fifth-grade follows from 10:00 to 11:30. Bring school supplies in at orientation if possible.

Destin Middle School
DMS’s open house will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 for sixth, seventh and eighth-grade students new to DMS. The fifth-grade open house will be at 1 p.m. the same day.

Freshman orientation is Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon in the gym. School starts Monday morning at 7 a.m.

Meal prices for Okaloosa County schools are:
Elementary
Breakfast - students $1.10, adults $1.50, reduced $0.30
Lunch - students $2.10, adults $3.00, reduced $0.40

Secondary
Breakfast - students $1.25, adults $1.50, reduced $0.30
Lunch - students $2.25, adults $3.00, reduced $0.40

School meal accounts can now be managed online www.SchoolPaymentSolutions.com. To create an account, parents will need to to know the student’s school district, school, student ID number, street address, child’s date of birth and have a valid email address.
