Man sentenced for 10th DUI conviction
An Alabama man has been sentenced to five years, two months in federal prison stemming from his arrest for DUI at Eglin Air Force Base’s West Gate last November.
U.S. District Judge Casey Rodgers sentenced 54-year-old Michael Naramore to the maximum sentence in connection to his 10th DUI conviction in 27 years, according the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Eglin security police arrested Naramore on Nov. 24, 2010, at the West Gate after he told airmen he was heading to Birmingham, Ala., according to a news release. Naramore reeked of alcohol, had trouble rolling down his window and opening his door, and could not produce a driver license.
He pleaded guilty to the DUI charge May 16.
