Wondering what the buzz was? World War II plane pilots raise $15,000 after donation flights (PHOTOS)
The Destin Warbirds, Dr. Joe Carnley, Ray Watson, Tim McDonald, Bruce Belser and Charles Duplantis, took to the skies over Destin for a good cause Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The group took up dozens of people on “donation flights” and raised $15,000 to help Alan Henley, a former pilot who was recently paralyzed in a freak accident.
The flights drew fire from some local residents concerned about noise and safety issues, while others defended them.
