LETTER: Dispersant deception?
I was forwarded an email that mentioned your paper and quoted Lt. Cmdr Dale Vogelsang, liason with the Coast Guard, as saying C-130s were never used to spray dispersant.
This is total BS. My office faces the Stennis Airport, and I watched them fly from May until July. The flight pattern went from Stennis Airport over my house. A huge amount of dispersant was stored next to my office.
I have photos and will swear under oath up to four C-130s at one time were used. Marine Spill Response Corps (MSRC) has a permanent office at Stennis. There is one King Air at Dynamic Aviation (in the same hangar as MSRC) that is outfitted with spray equipment. This is based on MSRC documentation.
Vogelsang is either lying or severely misinformed.
By the way, when the EPA told BP to stop using Corexit back in May their response was to fly all C-130s morning till night from May 20 (Thursday) until Monday, May 24, when the EPA finally showed up for work and shut them down to 25 percent usage.
Please continue to refute this total garbage.
