Re: Story, March 11, "Applications for beach permits soar"

The Eglin officials seem to think that by requiring beach goers to get a permit, it will solve the destruction of beach property and beach wildlife. How can that be? We still have the same irresponsible people there, but now with permits.

The Eglin officials are just trying to flex their power over the people.

I don't know of any local people that are happy with this. I'm sure the Department of Outdoor Recreation is happy with the 600 permit applications, but trust me, the people didn't get them because they like it, they got them because they HAD TOO, or face a fine or jail time.
