Single-payer insurance is not a cure-all for health coverage. Let’s call single-payer what it really is. It is socialized medicine. Calling it by any other name does not make it more accessible. Socialized medicine has never worked anywhere it is operating. People have to wait for months to get treatment if they are even qualified. You do not just walk in and get treatment. Panels decide if, when, or what treatment you may or may not get.

Our current so-called Affordable Care Act is not health care. When ACA insurance premiums are so outrageously high and the deductibles keep rising, that is not health care. It is a financial boon to insurance companies that rarely have to pay out much because of these restrictions.

Remember the statement made by famous author P.J. O’Rourke, “If you think health insurance is expensive now, wait until it is free!”

We are a free enterprise, capitalist country where the market can offer much better solutions than the ACA or socialized medicine where one size fits all. We need to get back to a system that offers different choices rather than this albatross hanging around our neck. Furthermore, the ACA was never intended to provide health care in the first place. It was intended to fail so that we would be forced into socialized medicine that has never been successful.
