LETTER: Honesty, integrity: The case for Cyron

As the Destin city election nears this Tuesday, Jan 31, I feel it is my duty and pleasure to let the voters know about an awesome man, Cyron Marler.

He is running for city council. I have known Cyron my whole life. He is the great-grandson of William Marler, the co-founder of Destin. I can't think of anyone that knows more about the issues of Destin than Cyron. He was a council member from 2000 and 2008 and has done some great things for our city.

Cyron has personally attended all the city’s meetings in the past four years to keep abreast of everything going on because Destin and its development is so near and dear to his heart. Anytime I have a question concerning what is happening with important decisions being made, Cyron has all the facts.  His honesty, integrity and hard work over all these years makes me feel like I have someone on my side that cares about what is truly important to the citizens of Destin.

Cyron has served on the Public Works and Safety Committee for the past eight years and on the Board of Adjustment since 2008. While serving on the council he was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the current harbor boardwalk project and actively pursued the improvements for Airport Road and the Legion Drive expansion.

I am also proud of his volunteering over the years for many of our traditional events where his God-given voice has blessed many in attendance. I can't think of a better man to represent yours and my interest in this city we love. Please vote Cyron Marler for City Council.
