Here is what some people are saying online about stories in the Destin Log.
A topless bar in Destin? — By: ilovethebeach
The problem is not with exposing a female breast. The problem is the audience — and the assortment of other gutter lifestyle issues. Guys who need to pay to see a naked female bring along with them prostitutes to serve them, the prostitutes bring drug traffic — along with violence. Oh yeah! I really want that kind of club in my neighborhood.

Why would you conclude that a dude who just wants to see a naked chick is going to then bring prostitution, drugs, crime and violence to the area? Isn’t that stretching it a bit far? We have that carp already. Destin isn’t all peaches and roses and the surrounding areas certainly aren’t innocent either.
New “adult entertainment” rules — By: makeminemoxie
“The current ban includes showing the female breast ‘below the top of the areola’ and any exposure of genitals or buttocks.’ ” Would it be safe to say that a gay bar with male topless dancers would be within the legal limits of section 3-2? Destin is so screwed up!

So does this mean they can open a topless bar, as long as they don’t serve beer?

Does that mean women are not allowed to breast feed in public in Destin?
By: militarydawg
You can see more than that at Nightown, AJ’s, or just about anywhere else they sell alcohol for consumption on the premises.

Now that the homeless have discovered Destin as a nice place to visit we will now have the sexually deprived and the perverts that accompany the strip clubs like we already have on Okaloosa Island and in Valparaiso. I say NO to this activity in ALL of Okaloosa County.

Gonna have to close down the beaches I guess. The amount of skin shown there is about the same.

When they tried to ban alcohol in topless bars in Jacksonville some of the owners quit serving then opened the doors to 18-year-olds, saying the entertainment was R-rated. This changed very quickly.

No nudity in Destin? I guess I better find my clothes.

Don't we have enough strip joints within a 5-mile drive of this location (on the island). I hope the city of Destin sticks to its guns. We don't want to be like Panama City by letting this sort of thing come into our neighborhood. It will give Destin a bad rep and we will start losing our RICH families that come to this town on vacation. The city of Destin thrives on fishing, shopping, condos and the money of all the people who come here to visit. They don't come here for strip bars. It’s a waste of time and money and has no place in the city of Destin — especially where it is located.

They should let them open a topless bar, maybe I can get a job there.

Destin paraplegic a documentary star — By: msgtretired
Charlie — you may be modest and self-conscious about the documentary, but in my humble opinion you’re doing the right thing here! If just one person watches the documentary and decides that they DON’T have to settle for their current quality of life ... and they can improve it ... then it was worth the effort. Good Luck and God Speed

Charlie is a friend of mine. He is truly a special human being. He is as quick with a kind word, as anyone I have ever known. His love and compassion for his fellow man is second to none! I encourage everyone to watch his documentary and to donate to his wonderful foundation.

Golf carts putter back onto City Council agenda — By: Not on the sidewalk
Sidewalks are for pedestrians. If they want to drive their carts then build a separate cart path. It gets dangerous when you have golf carts mixed with pedestrians.
