Washington's Birthday: A poem about America's lost Father's Day
It means so much to our nation
To celebrate our Father’s Day,
But Congress had to change it
And now it’s called President’s Day.
I don’t know what they were thinking
When they voted their way.
I believe it was more about business
Than respect for our Patriot’s Day.
I don’t know if they realize
What it means to our children
To honor our Father’s Day,
Cause if they don’t restore it
It will be forgotten with each passing day.
If we want to preserve our nation
And nurture patriotism in some way,
Congress had better restore
George Washington’s Birthday.
