Before the first family’s widely-publicized visit, The Destin Log asked online readers “Would you like to see the Obamas vacation in the Destin area?”
Of 860 votes cast, A whopping 44 percent said no because “we don’t support his policies on the Panhandle.” About 14 percent thought such a visit would be a traffic nightmare,
About 10 percent said a presidential dip in the water would prove the coast is clear while 12 percent thought a Destin vacation would cement the city as a “world-class destination.”
About 20 percent just didn’t care.
