Little League a big deal in Destin

Hurrah for Destin Little League baseball!

Thank God for all of its supporters past and present. Thanks for helping to bring children and families together over the years.

Thanks for a night out at the ball park or a Saturday afternoon enjoying a beautiful day. Thank you little league for spending year after year trying to perfect a game that involves so many. Thanks for all the time and effort to promote fair play and enjoyment for all. Thanks for a rule book that children, coaches, board members and parents spent millions of hours on to help write over the years. Thanks for the use of the land we are able to enjoy this sport on.

Thanks for the volunteers. Thanks for the coaches’ countless hours of dedication. Thanks for the parents that spent so many special hours bonding with their children. Thanks for the city that supports our game. Thanks to all the citizens that help contribute to our children’s growth and competitive spirit on and off the field. Thanks for the new friends we have met on the ball park.

Thanks to The Destin Log for all the smiles on our children’s faces when they see their name in the paper. Thank you Destin founding members for adopting this league and this game. Thank you Little League and all the millions of people throughout the U.S. for helping to promote this game and the millions that did before us.

Thanks should be given in every small and large town or city, and it would take more than the entire existence of The Destin Log to write down everything we should be thankful for about Little League baseball. I for one will never sit idly by while attacks and personal agendas aim to disband what so many have contributed to. I don’t believe hundreds or millions of others will either.
