All three of the Destin Dolphin teams participating in the Panhandle Youth Football Association lost on the gridiron over the weekend.

The Dolphin Seniors, playing at home, lost 28-6 to the Fort Walton Beach Buccaneers, while the Pee Wees lost 38-0 to FWB and the Junior Dolphins went down 26-0 to the Buc’s as well.

In the Senior game, Destin Coach Ryan Orr said they had a good first half.

Fort Walton Beach scored on their initial drive, then the Destin defense held them.

The Dolphins even got on the board late in the first half on a 20-yard run by Eli Williams for a 7-6 game at the break.

However in the second half, Destin didn’t fare to well.

“We couldn’t match up with them up front,” Orr said.

“They were big and physical,” Orr said of the Buc’s offensive and defensive line.

Serving as team captains for the day for the Destin Dolphin Seniors were Williams, Maddox Fayard, Carston Phillips and Harrison Orr.

Up next for the Destin teams is a road trip to Crestview on Saturday, Sept. 16. The Pee Wee Dolphins will take on Crestview Red at 11:30 a.m. The Junior Dolphins follow at 3 p.m. with a matchup with Crestview Red. The Seniors finish up the day with a 5 p.m. game against Crestview. All games will be played at the Shoal River Middle School football field off Redstone Avenue in Crestview.
