The Destin Dolphin Juniors posted a big 19-13 overtime win over Crestview Red in the Panhandle Youth Football Association on Saturday in Crestview.

Tops on offense for Destin were Owen Davis, Braxton Beard and Maddox Hayles. Davis had 18 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns, while Beard rushed 13 times for 73 yards. Hayles had 22 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown, plus an extra point.

On defense, Destin’s Kadon Chapman, Charlie Perkins and Gunnar Smith all caused fumbles. Baylon Knox and Andrew Atkins each pulled down an interception for the Dolphins.

Team captains for the game were Carter Phillips, Landon Ullrich, Baylon Knox and Braxton Beard.

As for the Dolphin Seniors, their game with Crestview Red was called due to lightning, but not before Destin scored. On the Dolphins' first possession, Harrison Orr connected with Maddox Fayard for a catch-and-run for an 80-yard touchdown. Eli Williams ran in the point after for a 7-0 game.

Not long after, the game was called.

“I’m just proud of them for bouncing back after last week’s loss,” said Destin Coach Ryan Orr. “They were focused all week during practice and showed a lot of maturity and mental toughness.”

Serving as team captains for the Seniors were Ethan Ramsey, Charlie Guilory, Parker Kajala and Aiden Mohr.

The Destin Pee Wees lost 53-13 to Crestview Red.

All three of the Destin Dolphin teams will be at home this Saturday.

The Pee Wees play Niceville 1 at 10 a.m., Juniors take on South Walton at 1 p.m., and the Seniors play Niceville 1 at 5 p.m.

All games will be played on the football field behind Destin Elementary School on Kelly Street.
