After the first match was canceled due to rain, both the Destin Middle School golf teams posted victories on the links against Davidson Middle School at Blackstone Country Club near DeFuniak Springs on Thursday.

The Marlin boys won by 14 strokes.

Parker Seagle led the way for the Marlins at 33, followed by Tanner Morlan at 35, Isiash Batarao 38, and Miller Lindsley with a 39.

The girls won by 10 strokes, 139-149.

“I’m looking forward to having a good season,” said Destin Coach Patricia Malpass. “We have several returning players form last year's team and a good group of fifth graders.”

Posting scores for the Destin girls were Camryn Lux with a 32; Juliana Hock with a 35; Riley Conroy and Aaliyah Miille both with a 36; Marlee Rountree, 39; and Darbi Fraser, 42.

This season the Marlins open with three consecutive road matches before finally returning home to Regatta Bay to face Bruner Middle School of Fort Walton Beach on March 27.
