The Destin Lady Marlins collected another win on the greens this week, making it their third straight.

“We’ve had three matches so far and we have played pretty well, but not our best,” said Destin Coach Patricia Malpass. “There’s always room for improvement. We have been working on putting lately, so hopefully we will putt better in our upcoming matches and finish with some low scores at the county tournament.”

The county tournament is slated for April 16 at Blackstone.

However, their latest win was over Bruner Middle School.

Destin shot a 77, while Bruner scored 128. Playing at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club in Destin, they only got to play four holes because of light.

Destin’s No. 1 Camryn Lux shot an even par, 16.

Juliana Hock shot a 21, while Riley Conroy and Marlee Rountree each shot a 20. Aaliyah Miille scored a 24 and Emmy Chandler a 32.

In their second match of the season, Destin defeated Shoal River 135-188 at Blackstone Golf Course in DeFuniak Springs.

Scoring for Destin were Lux who shot a 31; Hock, 33; Conroy, 33; Miille, 38; Rountree, 39; and Piper Lindsley, 44.

Up next for Destin is a 4 p.m. match Monday at Shalimar Pointe against Meigs.
