Both the boys and girls Destin tennis teams were swatted down by the Liza Jackson Lions in middle school action Monday afternoon at Bluewater Bay Tennis Center.

The Destin boys lost 5-2 while the girls went down 6-1.

"Liza Jackson is a formidable opponent and played very well," said Destin Coach Brett Chipser. "We had a bunch of really good matches. You win some, you lose some, but you learn more from losing and Destin Middle School is learning from our losses and will come out better and stronger because of it."

Posting a singles victory for the boys was No. 5 player Eisley Ingram with a 6-5 win over Olin Wolfgram of Liza Jackson.

Blake Forester and Ethan Eubanks teamed up for the other Destin win with a 6-4 victory over Cameron Stanford and Evan Harper in doubles play.

In singles play, Forester and Eubanks both lost 6-3. Gates Chipser lost 6-0 to Harper and Chris Blanchard lost 6-4 in a close one to Deagan Kilpatrick.
