The Destin Marlins won their last two matches this week on the links to finish their regular season 8-0 in middle school golf.

“I’m very proud of how the girls have played this year,” said Destin Coach Patricia Malpass. “We are finishing our season with a lot of momentum. To have five girls that on average shoot within five strokes of each other is a definite advantage going into the county tournament.”

The Okaloosa County Middle School Golf Tournament will tee off Monday morning at Blackstone Golf Course near DeFuniak Springs.

As for matches this week, Destin defeated St. Mary’s on Monday, 123-184, at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club.

Marlee Rountree led the Marlins with a 28. Camryn Lux shot a 29 and Juliana Hock scored a 32. Riley Conroy and Aaliyah Miille both shot a 34, while Piper Lindsley scored 41.

Destin was back at Indian Bayou on Tuesday to face off with Ruckel Middle School. Destin won the match 131-136.

Conroy and Hock each carded a 31 for the Marlins. Rountree scored 34 and Lux 35. Miille checked in with a 37 and Darbi Fraser scored 40.
