Both the Destin girls and boys tennis teams whipped the Meigs Wildcats in middle school action at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.

The Destin girls won 7-0, while the boys won 6-1.

Destin’s top two girls, Madison Clark and Kaila Ullrich, posted 6-0 victories, as did No. 4 Bella Burkett and No. 5 player Sydney Eubanks. Destin’s No. 3 Carly Maurer won her match 6-1.

In doubles play, Clark and Ullrich teamed up for a 6-0 victory, as did Maurer and Burkett.

As for the boys, Destin’s No. 1 Blake Forester won his match 6-3 over Aiden Waddy.

Playing in the No. 2 slot, Eisley Ingram lost 6-0.

Destin’s No. 3 Gates Chipser, No. 4 Eason Ingram and No. 5 Chris Blanchard all won their matches 6-1.

Forester and Chipser teamed up in doubles play to win 6-1, while Adams White and Ingram joined forces for a 6-2 doubles win.

Up next for the 5-2 Destin Marlins is the county tournament, which begins Wednesday morning at Bluewater Bay Tennis Center. Play begins at 8 a.m.
