Frank Kasser connected for four hits to lead Emerald Coast Alarms in an eighth-inning 24-19 win over Misfits in the Coed Division III Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Kasser hit three doubles and a single for four RBIs.

ECA took the early lead in the first two innings, 9-6. By the end of four, Misfits had tied up the game at 9-9.

In the top of the fifth, ECA pulled away 17-13, but at the end of regulation the game was tied at 18-18.

In the top of the eighth, ECA scored six runs and then held Misfits to one for the win.

Pete VanHestern belted a home run and two doubles for five RBIs for ECA, while Amy Collins hit four singles for an RBI.

Matt Eden tripled and hit two doubles for three RBIs for Misfits. Brandon Brookshaw hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs, and Sam Senor connected for three singles for two RBIs.

 

Fenders Collision 23, SoWal 21

At the end of three innings the game was tied at 8-8.

In the fourth, SoWal edged ahead 12-10 and then extended its lead in the fourth with nine runs.

Down 21-18 going into the last inning, Fenders scored five runs to come from behind for the win.

Megan Irby hit two doubles and a single for Fenders. Donald Buck tripled, doubled and singled for three RBIs, and Laura Mosely hit three singles for three RBIs. Adam Mooney cranked out a home run.

Michael Ogden slapped a home run and a triple good for three RBIs for SoWal. Rae Richardson doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs and Steve Cline hit three singles for two RBIs.
