FWB cheerleaders to host 5K Viking Run/Walk
The Fort Walton Beach High School Viking Cheerleaders will host the 5K Viking Run/Walk sponsored by Harris Insurance at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 at Uptown Station.
The flat course is behind Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach and the money raised will be used to send the 2011 and 2012 FHSAA state champions to state and national competitions.
Cost for early registration is $20 and will be $25 on race day; the first 200 registrants receive a free T-shirt. Registration and package pick-up is Feb. 17 at the Fort Walton Beach High School guidance counselor office. Race day registration will be conducted from 2-3 p.m. at Uptown Station.
Registrants should make checks payable to Fort Walton Beach High School Cheer; payment and registration forms can be dropped off to Christy Simms in the Fort Walton Beach High School guidance counselor office or mailed to Lori Walls, 34 Bishop Ave., Fort Walton Beach, FL, 32548.
Recreational walkers are encouraged to participate, just don’t run. If you intend on walking and running, then register as an open runner.
