Faith Assembly stumbles on God’s Way

Mike Dowling knocked in five runs to lead God’s Way in a 10-9 win over Faith Assembly in the Coed Church Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.
Dowling belted a home run and a triple.
Faith Assembly jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first three innings. God’s Way battled back with three runs in the fourth, three in the sixth and then four in the seventh.
Robin Hankins singled for God’s Way. James Heller ripped an in-the-park homer for three RBIs.
Matt Babcock and Brad Skinner each hit two singles for an RBI for Faith. Brittany Manor singled and Patrick Chimento blasted a two-run homer.
•God’s Way 26, Shoreline Church 10
God’s Way again came from behind to post a win. Down 4-3, God’s Way took charge of the game in the third inning with six runs. In the top of the fourth, God’s Way scored the 10-run limit to capture the win in five innings.
Robin Hankins hit four singles for an RBI for God’s Way. Alan Meyers homered, hit two triples and a single for five RBIs, and Tiny Lee tripled and hit two doubles for three RBIs.
Dale Kasel tripled and hit two singles for three RBIs for Shoreline. Brent Hoogewarf homered and doubled for three RBIs, and Hope Tuffle hit two singles.
•Destin United Methodist 16, Christ Our Redeemer 6
Leading 13-0 after three innings, Methodist put the game away in five innings.
Teresa Imdieke tripled, doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs for Methodist. John Henderson tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Selisha Early hit three singles.
Carlos Poveda homered, tripled and doubled for four RBIs for Christ Our Redeemer. Dan Smith doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Matt Herbermann batted two doubles and a single.
•Frozen Chosen 9, Destin United Methodist 10
At the end of five innings, the game was tied 8-8. Frozen Chosen got the advantage in the top of the sixth, but then lost it in the bottom of the seventh.
Rob Morgan led Methodist with two doubles and two singles for two RBIs. B.J. Wood hit two doubles and a single, and John Henderson hit two doubles for two RBIs.
David Lawson ripped two doubles and a single for two RBIs for Frozen. Rick Moore hit two singles for three RBIs, and Matt Taylor doubled and singled for an RBI. Zack Rettig belted a solo home run.
•Village/First Baptist Mary Esther 14, Shoreline Church 4
Village jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the first three innings.
Ray Blackwood led Village with four singles for an RBI. Doug Loar homered, tripled and singled for five RBIs, and Pat Madden hit three singles for an RBI.
Matt Wright tripled and hit two singles for Shoreline. Ashley Graham hit three singles, and Greg Grisamore doubled and hit two singles.
