Marriott dead ends Sandcastle Escapes

Jeremy Viayanet knocked in five runs to lead Marriott in a 16-0 blowout over Sandcastle Escapes in the Men’s Competitive Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

 Viayanet ripped two home runs and a double for five RBIs.

Marriott scored five in the first inning, then two in the second, third and fourth and finished up with five in the fifth.

Bradley Phillips belted a home run and three singles for two RBIs, and Jimmy Guess doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs. Travis Holcomb hit a home run.

Jake Small led Sandcastle with two singles. Chad Horton and Ryan Manthey each singled.

•Frank’s Cash and Carry 25, Marriott 24

At the end of three, the game was tied at 10-10. Marriott took the lead in the fourth with seven runs, but Frank’s turned the tide in the bottom of the fifth with 11 runs.

Josh McKay and Chris Troutman each doubled and hit four singles for Frank’s for two RBIs. Aaron Carter hit four singles for an RBI. George Schissler and Will Vanderecken each hit a home run.

Chip Jeffcoat hit the cycle for Marriott with a homer, triple, double and two singles for five RBIs. Ryan Asbury also hit the cycle with a homer, triple, double and a single for five RBIs. Jeff Tullis smacked a home run, double and a single for three RBIs. Travis Holcomb and Daniel Thomas each hit a home run.
