BOYS

THURSDAY

• Father Ryan 9, Fort Walton Beach 1: Fort Walton Beach fell behind early and couldn’t come back on the final day of round-robin play in the Powerade Classic.
Hunter Forbes scored the lone run for the Vikings.
Brandon Horn, Forbes, Robin Bailey and Josh Brister all had hits for FWB.
The Vikings (5-10) play Milton today at 3 p.m. in the Powerade Classic.

• Freeport 7, Taylor County (Ky.) 3: Freeport put up five runs in the second inning en route to a non-district win.
Josh Rhodes paced the offense with a three-run double, while Derek Fannin had a two-run single.
The Bulldogs (9-6) host Pensacola Christian on Saturday.

WEDNESDAY

•Fort Walton Beach 7, Baker 3: Hunter Forbes went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Fort Walton Beach baseball team to a 7-3 win over Baker on Wednesday.
Austin Sullivan got the win on the mound, striking out 13 in seven innings, and added two hits, two runs and an RBI at the plate for the Vikings.
Chase Dodson had a hit and an RBI, while Josh Brister scored two runs in the win.
Preston Nixon led the Gators with three RBI, while Colton Henry had two hits and scored a run. Josh Yost and Brandon Henderson scored the other runs for Baker in the loss.
Baker (4-9) will travel to Crestview to face Milton today.

• Walton 5, South Walton 4: Sean Carter led the Braves at the plate as well as on the mound in the team’s win over South Walton.
Carter pitched a complete game and struck out eight batters, while going 2-for-3 for the Braves.
Shadler Roehm and Larel Jackson also logged two hits a piece for Walton in the win.
Jake Wright and Justin Moore each had two hits for South Walton in the loss. Moore also scored a run.
South Walton (7-9) returns to action on April 7 when they travel to Walton.

TUESDAY

• Freeport 9, Ponce De Leon 6: Freeport had too much offense for the Pirates in a District 1-2A win.
C.J. Bates had four hits to lead the way, while Josh Rhodes, Cole Weeks, Thomas Suggs and Drew Farris all had two hits.
The Bulldogs (8-6, 4-1 district) host Taylor County (Ky.) on Thursday.

• North Little Rock 15, Fort Walton Beach 1: The Vikings fell behind early and could not keep up on the first day of the Powerade Classic.
Brandon Horn and Blake Becnel had the hits for the Vikings, while Hunter Forbes scored.
The Vikings (4-8) host Baker today in the Powerade Classic.

GIRLS

THURSDAY

•South Walton 2, Walton 1: South Walton’s softball team stayed perfect in District 1-3A as the Seahawks earned a 2-1 victory over rival Walton on Thursday.
 Shelby Watson struck out 11 and gave up no earned runs in a complete-game effort.
Kathryn Kenner led South Walton at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance while driving in a run. Cassie Maier went 2-for-3 at the dish for the Seahawks.
Shannon Bell had two hits and scored the lone run for the Braves (7-9, 1-5 district), while Layla Roberts had a hit.
South Walton (16-1, 6-0 district) will host Larue County (Ky.) on April 7.

•Jay 11, Freeport 0: Freeport fell behind early and was plagued by errors and an inability to hit in its District 1-2A finale.
Jordan Howell had the lone hit for Freeport.
The Bulldogs (5-12, 2-6 district) host Bay on Monday.

TUESDAY

• Baker 10, Freeport 4: Baker scored four runs in the third and sixth innings en route to a District 1-2A victory.
Sydney Boutwell went 3-for-3, including a home run, and scored four times. Mollie Royal was also 3-for-3 and scored two runs. Brittney Kilpatrick was 2-for-3 and drove in four.
Curstin Buford drove in two and scored once to lead Freeport at the plate.
Jordan Howell had an RBI and scored once, while Jessica Moulton also scored. Amber Mount contributed two hits.
The Gators (10-7, 5-2 district) travel to Ponce de Leon on Thursday.

• Crestview 5, Fort Walton Beach 4: Rene Copeland knocked in Autumn Norris and Lauren Estep with one out in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bulldogs a District 1-5A win.
Norris went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the Bulldogs, while Copeland finished with two hits.
Jessica Long went 1-for-1 and scored twice.
Jessica Whidden went 2-for-3, including a home run, with two runs and two RBIs to lead the Vikings. Jessica Erickson added two hits and scored once.
The Bulldogs (9-8, 4-7 district) travel to Choctawhatchee on Thursday.

•Clarksville (Tenn.) 3, Fort Walton Beach 2; Fort Walton Beach 10, Sweetwater, (Tenn.) 2: Fort Walton Beach managed a split in its two games against teams from Tennessee on Wednesday.
In the early game, the Vikings lost to Clarksville (Tenn.) 3-2.
Andrea Sybert led Fort Walton Beach at the plate in the first game by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Savannah Henry also had two hits in the loss.
Tavia Tanner and Jessica Erickson led the Vikings to victory with three RBIs a piece in the late game, as Fort Walton Beach beat Sweetwater (Tenn.) 10-2.
Jessica Whidden had two hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Vikings in the late game. Andrea Sybert added two hits and scored two runs in the win.
Fort Walton Beach (5-13) will host the Beach Bash tournament next Thursday.
