Loretta Robson Pate

Loretta Robson Pate went to join her husband of 55 years, Millard, on Feb. 21, 2013. She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Newark, N.J., to the late George and Amanda Robson.

She was a member of Port Royal Eastern Star and spent 35 years in Civil Service during which time she established the ATR (Accredited Tumor Registry) at Eglin Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Emogene Smithson; grandson, Randy Arwood; and brother, Eugene Robson.

She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Maggie Pate Brady of Destin, and Patricia (Michael) Lewis of Arlington, Neb.; grandchildren, Lady (Jeff) Carajohn of Petone, Ill., Frank (Alison) Distel of Rosswell, Ga., Amanda (Jason) Weeks of Chesapeake, Va., Michael Paul (Erin) Lewis of Alexandria, Va., Brianna (Todd) Ruelas of Houston, Texas, Matthew (Crystal) Lewis of Houston, Texas, Shawn Brady of Destin, Maxwell Lewis, Lincoln, Neb., and McKenna Lewis of Arlington.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Jessica, Kayla, Randi and Luke Hafner of Petone, Ill., Madison Distel of Roswell, Chandler, Chase, and Amanda Kate Weeks of Chesapeake, Grace of Fremont, Neb., Kirin, Blair and Austin Lewis of Alexandria, and Ashton, Ansley, Zachary, and Drew Ruelas of Houston.

She is also survived by her beloved sister, Muriel Destin and nephew, Dewey (Becky) Destin, and niece, Nina Destin of Destin.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. March 1 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, N.E. in Fort Walton Beach.

After a family graveside service, a memorial in celebration of Loretta's life will be held at 11 a.m. March 2 at Grace Lutheran Church in Destin with lunch to follow.
