A worker at Destin's new zipline suffered a minor injury Sunday night while helping a rider who was stuck on the line, according to Battalion Chief Bronson Coleman from the Destin Fire Control District.

The worker was injured as he kept two riders from bumping into each other.

"I believe the guy's hand got pinched," Coleman said. "It was a minor injury."

Coleman said the man wasn't transported by first responders, but drove himself to a hospital to be treated.

"Our guys actually had to go up to the top to check the guy out, according to Battalion Chief (Mike) Urenda."

The zipline ride has been open since July 4th. HarborWalk officials say there have only been a couple of instances where dangling riders needed to be assisted the last few feet to the platform.
