The Destin Library will host a summertime reading program with storyteller Pat Nease at 5 p.m. Aug. 1. The program is free and open to the public. The target audience is children presently in kindergarten through grade 5.
Nease tells stories — hairy-scary ones, silly-chilly ones, oldiegoldie ones, and some that she makes up herself. A former teacher, she has told her stories to people of all ages at festivals, coffeehouses, churches, libraries, schools, state parks, and conferences.
Nease was a teacher, library-media specialist and resource teacher for 35 years. Currently a writer, creator and a teller of tales, she was a past president of the Florida Storytelling Association, founder of the Middle School Storytelling Festival in Panama City, and a member of the National Storytelling Network.
