Jill Foster has been named director of First Baptist Church Destin’s Child Development Center.
“With more than 20 years of progressive experience in children’s ministry, Jill comes to Destin after growing the preschool and children’s department at Beulah Baptist in Douglasville, Ga., into a very large and successful ministry,” said Dr. Farren Roper, pastor at FBC.
From 6:30 in the morning until 6 at night, First Baptist Destin provides before and after school care as well as bed babies to kindergartens each day with emphasis on educational programs based on sound principles of development for all children from six weeks to 12 years.
“Our new job is a great honor and responsibility,” Foster said. She will host an open house from 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 to meet parents and welcome the Destin community to a Back to School Party for all area elementary students.
“We look forward to meeting the hundreds of parents who allow us to be a part of their child’s development at First Baptist Church as we offer every child a strong foundation for spiritual, intellectual and overall growth in an atmosphere of love and respect,” Foster said.
The Foster family includes husband of 34 years, Ricky, and three daughters, Jennifer, Katie and Ryanne.
First Baptist Church Child Development Center has a long history in Destin with activities designed to promote independence and foster development in the social, emotional, cognitive and physical domains using the Abeka Curriculum with emphasis on early learning.
First Baptist Destin is a caring ministry providing spiritual growth for members and opportunities for the community with the Child Development Center, Rocky Bayou Christian Elementary School through sixth grade, and powerful Sunday and Wednesday night Refresh services that build a strong relationship with God.
