Della Reed

Della, 93, was born Feb. 5, 1920 in Callaway County, Missouri, to John and Elva Dwight.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep Oct. 29.

Della was a virtuous woman and devout Christian, who owned and managed several businesses in Pensacola. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Johnny; two sisters, Mildred and Helen; and her husbands, Bill Bryant and Calvin Reed. 

Survivors include her children, Beverly Bryant (Larry) Sassano of Destin, Retired Col. Chuck (Donna) Bryant of Alexandria, Va., and Rodney Bryant of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; grandchildren, Shelley (Jeremy) Hull, Chad (Mary) Bryant, all of Virginia, Tori Everette of Fort Walton Beach, Bryson Jobe of Virginia and Stefan Jobe of Destin; step-grandchildren, Christopher Sassano of New York City, NY and Andrew Sassano of Destin; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Tanner, Kendra Hull, Cassidy and Aidia Bryant, and Nathan and Jaime Jeffery, Gavin and Jenna Mae Gutierrez; and a brother, Bruce Dwight of Missouri.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude and special thanks to the caring staff at the Gulf Breeze Courtyard and Emerald Coast Hospice.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 1 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eastern Gate Memorial Cemetery. 

Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Donna Lolita Rupright Harp

Donna Lolita Rupright Harp, 64, entered into peace on Oct. 27, 2013, with her family by her side.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on Aug. 13, 1949, she was raised in Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach and Destin.

Donna married her high school sweetheart, Gary K. Harp, and together with their two sons, lived in Washington, D.C., England, Spain, Pensacola, Panama Canal Zone, Hawaii and Jacksonville while Gary served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Fort Walton Beach where she eventually retired after 21 years as a dental assistant. In 2007, they moved to Candler, N.C., where she dedicated herself to her husband and two grandsons.

Preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Hudson Smith and Robert Smith; daughter, Angela DeEtte Harp; mother-in-law, Gladys Harp; and nephew, Jonathan McDaniel.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary; sons, Bryon (Melanie) Harp and Jason (Bella) Harp; grandchildren, Dyess Harp and Braeden Harp; brother, Eddie (Susan) Rupright; father-in-law, Jack Harp; brother-in law, Lindsey (Glenda) Harp; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Robert) Ochampaugh, Hope (Jeff) Cook, Ruth (Scott) Solomon, and Sherry (Mike) McCullough; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was a loving and joyful person confident in her redemption in Christ, full of energy and zeal for life. She was loved by all her knew her. She fought cancer for many years and was always extremely positive and a hero to many for her strength and determination.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 2 at Evangelistic Centre, 101 1st Street SE Fort Walton Beach. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tim Black with a visitation immediately following in the Fireside Room.
