The 6th Annual Blues, Brews and BBQ takes place Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With more than 20 top regional restaurants contending, it is set to be a fun and spirited competition. Competing this year are last year's champions Harry T's Lighthouse, Crab Island Cantina, and Jim 'N Nicks BBQ.

Challengers are Sandcastles Restaurant at Hilton Sandestin, Beach Butt BBQ, Tucker Duke's Lunchbox, Joey Tomato's, Jester Mardi Gras Daiquiris and Pizza, Landshark Pizza and Wing Company, Chan's Wine World, Sago Sports Bar & Grill, Malibu Jacks, Great Southern Café, Peppers Mexican Grill and Cantina, McGuire's Irish Pub and Bogarbecue.

Cold craft beers from across the globe will be on tap, and more than 20 single barrel bourbons will be available for tasting — all set to a soundtrack of hot live music. The restaurants will be competing for The People's Choice award, for first, second and third place, in addition to Best Traditional BBQ, Most Creative BBQ, Best Seafood BBQ and Best Booth.

Tasting armbands are $25 and that lets you eat unlimited barbecue. It also includes six tickets for cold drafts, bourbons or bloody marys.

Proceeds will benefit local charities of the winners' choice, and the ProStart scholarship program.

Entertainment includes The Season Ammons Band — a sultry salute to rock and roll, blues and southern country, The Blenders — a soulful groove biscuit with spicy jazz gravy, The Modern Eldorados — wildly authentic rockabilly meets American honky tonk.
