Independence Day is upon us. Thanks to the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, finding the perfect place to watch a spectacular fireworks display with your family and friends is a no brainer.

Enjoy a night of music, fireworks and family fun as the Village of Baytowne Wharf will be full of smiling faces this Fourth of July.

“We have it all,” said Events Manager Julie Stuckey. “You can watch the fireworks; kids can play on the inflatable bounce house, plus eat and shop while you’re here.”

“The Village of Baytowne Wharf has celebrated Fourth of July since our first summer open in 2003, and the event has continued to grow.”

On Saturday, children’s activities will begin at 6 p.m. and will include face painting, crafts and balloon sculpting.  Baytowne’s many shops and eateries will also have their own specials throughout the night.

“It’s a one stop shop since everyone will be open,” said Stuckey. “We see that the guests are happy when they come because they are free to walk around in a safe environment.”

Live music will be playing throughout the evening by Austin, Texas band Soul Track Mind with their soulful sound of blues, jazz, funk and rock, she said, noting the musical act changes every year. The band was recently the opening act for Latin artist Enrique Iglesias.

As the events wind down around 9 p.m., guests can look up in the night sky and watch a fabulous patriotic fireworks display starting at 9:15.

“Our visitors look forward to this show and keep coming back to see it,” said Stuckey. “The sky is filled with red, white and blue colorful scenes, and the patriotic music choreographs beautifully with the pops and booms.”

Guests will gaze up in awe at the colorful sight as Lee Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to be an American” plays through the speakers.

“Visitors can watch the fireworks from any of our restaurants and shops, around the lagoon, and they can definitely grab a great spot for viewing on the Events Plaza lawn,” she said. “A lot of people come back and say the enjoyed it from last year and we like to change it up for our guests every year.”

Everyone is welcome to bring a blanket or two and some chairs as they sit and mingle among the stars.
