Michael Lynn Collins

Michael Lynn Collins, 70, passed away on Valentine Day 2013.  Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia, and daughters, Colleen Horn, husband Rurick, and Lisa Phillips, husband Brandon; brother and sister-in-law Cary and Margie Collins; nephew, Shaun and grandson Jack Ryan Phillips. 

Michael was a kind and loving husband and father with many other relatives and friends.

Michael was born in Birmingham, Ala.  After serving in the Air Force he moved to St. Louis where he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co. 

When he retired in 1999 he moved to Destin, Fla.

Richard C. Dwinell

Richard C. Dwinell, 78, passed away peacefully in his home on Feb. 16, 2013, in Destin, Fla.

Dick was born Aug. 12, 1934, in Louisville, Ky., to Richard and Frances Dwinell. He graduated from Saint Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Ind., in 1956. Dick enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany. In Germany, Dick met his loving wife of 54 years, Lilo Reiss. Dick was blessed by the births of his three children, Michele, Richard, and Janelle.

Dick retired from Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company as a regional vice president after more than 30 years. Dick and Lilo retired to Destin, Fla., in 1994.

Dick was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed traveling with Lilo, reading, crossword puzzles, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and socializing with family and friends. Dick served his community at Resurrection Catholic Church, where he volunteered his time as the president of the church council, reader, and usher.

Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lilo Dwinell; brother, Lew (Sandy) Dwinell; children, Michele Dwinell, Rich (Lisa) Dwinell and Janelle (Brian) Dickerson; grandchildren, Danielle Dickerson, Amanda Dwinell and Kaela Dwinell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 307 Beach Drive in Destin, with the Rev. Thomas J. Guido of Resurrection Catholic Church presiding.

Daniel Lee Bricker

Dan passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home Feb. 15, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charlie and Jean Bricker.

He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Overmoe of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Cindy J. Parsons of Destin, Fla.; nieces, Ashley Cannon, Jeanna McBride and Lindsay Gowing; nephew, Kyle Jones Parsons; and six great-nieces. He left behind his two best buds, his Boston terriers, Hooper and Dillon.

He was an avid fisherman and loved the water and boating. He was an excellent cook. He owned his own transmission repair business for many years in Fort Walton Beach and had been a mechanic since he graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1977.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
