Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House owner Miller Phillips wants to do whatever he can to give back to his employees who are facing a month off with no income.
DESTIN — Like lots of restaurant owners, Miller Phillips has been worried about how his employees will weather the coming month off with no income.
Phillips quickly turned his worry – the close mandated by Governor Ron DeSantis because of COVID-19 – into action.
Phillips' restaurant, Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House (414 Harbor Boulevard), is now selling gift cards online and giving all the money to his employees.
"Of all of the factors that led to the incredibly difficult decision to close, knowing that my work family would suffer the most was the toughest of them all," Phillips said. "Boshamps will be back and we will prevail, but we’ve got to do everything we can to take care of the people who have been taking care of us for so long. We can't thank everyone enough for their support.
"Hospitality will get us through this, and the same gracious hospitality will most certainly be offered up, when we do reopen."
Anyone who wants to purchase one of the gift cards need just go to www.boshamps.com.
