Memorial Day weekend marked the first large wave of crowds coming to enjoy Northwest Florida beaches and waterways on the unofficial start to the summer.

DESTIN — After weeks of isolation and business closures, it appears life is returning to normal on Destin Harbor.

Charter boats were actively taking people out and vendors were seen on Wednesday catering to customers who looked happy to be out in the world.

Restaurants and retailers were also operating and taking advantage of Gov. Ron Desantis’ easing of restrictions on businesses and the reopening of short-term rentals.
