Mother, Mama, Mom, Ma, Maw, MiMi, GiGi, Grandma, Grand.
These words conjure up so many emotions for many. I hope for you it is positive. For some, it may not be positive to read those words.
At the end of the day though we all need moms. They put up with us when nobody else will. They hold us when we cry. They teach us how to walk, talk and breathe when life is tough.
Even if your mom hasn’t provided these things for you, my prayer is that you have had someone in your life that has been a spiritual mom for you. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you need these people in your life.
In Proverbs 31 it goes over the qualities of a wife of noble character. She is smart, business-minded, cares for her household, praised by her family, and even goes as far as to say that she is worth far more than rubies. This woman has the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
Maybe you are reading this as you wait for the next soccer game to start or after a long day of hauling kids around from birthday party to birthday party, but we say that we see you moms.
You mother many. You pour out God’s love on His kids. You use self control when your teen rolls their eyes at you. You get up early to make lunch. You put your own agenda on hold to sew on a button. You lay down your life just like Jesus did on a daily basis.
For that, we thank you.
