Christianity has certainly been in the news a bunch in the last couple of weeks.

Who knew it would take a guy like Kanye West to make the Gospel (also meaning good news) of Jesus go into the actual news. Call the papers! There is a dead man that has been resurrected to new life!

We serve a BIG God with a creative imagination and creative solutions to problems. Why are we even surprised that an influential musical genius like Kanye would get saved and set free? This man has a tremendous impact on not only music, but also television, fashion, the next generation and even politics.

Back in 2014, I was sitting at a kitchen table with some friends having dinner, and we were dreaming about who were some of the most impactful people who could change the world if they knew Jesus. Kayne was one of them. We discussed at length just how wide a scope and great an impact he has at his fingertips, and how he could just use it to impact people in such a way that would lead them to God, not away from God.

From that day forward, I started to view the music industry and those in the midst of fame and fortune a little bit differently. They all want the same thing we do — to be known and loved.

I’m not saying that I became Kanye’s personal prayer warrior, but I am saying I did start to pray for him and others like him. My heart shifted toward those with influence. We must pray for them. Think about how many could know God!

King Solomon in the Bible had it all — wisdom, wealth, and women. What more could he want?

In Ecclesiastes 2:10-11, he said, "Whatever my eyes desired, I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, For my heart rejoiced in all my labor; And this was my ... reward from all my labor.

"Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done, And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun."

Solomon concludes that you can have it all, but it is worth nothing. It is like grasping at the wind.

I feel like Solomon and Kanye would get along. Kanye understands what it means to have it all and see that it is worth nothing without God.

Pray BIG prayers. Pray for BIG people in the spotlight. Expect BIG miracles. Give BIG praise and glory to God when you see the testimony!
