PANAMA CITY — Two businesses on 23rd Street sold winning lottery tickets this week, resulting in big money for two lucky buyers.
The Florida Lottery announced Tuesday that Zebulun Johnson-Barnes, 43, of Panama City, claimed a $1 million prize in the $10,000,000 World Class Cash Scratch-Off game.
Johnson-Barnes, who will turn 44 on Friday, chose to receive his early birthday winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $748,000. He purchased his winning ticket from the Exxon at 128 W. 23rd St.
Overall odds of winning a prize in the World Class Cash Scratch-Off game, a $25 ticket, are 1 in 2.89.
Johnson-Barnes wasn’t the week’s only local winner. Monday’s Fantasy 5 drawing also resulted in eight winning tickets, one of which was sold at Publix, 650 W. 23rd St. The eight winners in that drawing will split $25,251.98.
