The Tri-County Horticulture and Environmental Studies Group (TCHESG) will meet from 10 a.m. to noon April 20 at the Elk’s Lodge in Navarre, 2002 Elks Way.
Christy Linke, the Bees Chairman for the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, will teach attendees about some of the native bees. Participants will construct a nest box for native bees that they can take home to attract the beneficial insects to their gardens to aid in pollination.
Following the lecture and bee nest construction activity, participants are invited to join the group for lunch at Samurai Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar, 8780 Navarre Parkway. Please call 850-512-9755 to secure reservations for lunch.
The TCHESG is sponsored by participating garden clubs in Okaloosa, Walton and Santa Rosa counties. Hostess and sponsor for this meeting is the Navarre Garden Club. All meetings are open to the public. Donations will be collected at this meeting to help offset the cost of materials for the nest boxes. Join us for this fun, educational and beneficial event.
