The Tdap vaccine is required by law for all children before beginning seventh grade.

To make this requirement convenient for all, the Okaloosa County School District has teamed up with Healthy Schools to offer a no-cost Tdap vaccine to all sixth grade children in Okaloosa County during the school day between April 2 and 5. Again, there will be no out of pocket expense and the service will be conveniently performed during the school day.

Destin Middle School’s scheduled day will be April 3.

Tdap is a combination vaccine that protects against three potentially life-threatening bacterial diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough).

You can sign up by sending in the consent form your child brings home from school or can pick up a copy of this consent form in the school office.

For more information about the program or the vaccine, visit or call 1-800-566-0596.

Please remember this is a required vaccine for seventh grade attendance. If you would like your child to participate in this convenient and cost free program at school, please be sure to complete and sign the consent form and return it to your child’s school. Forms are due no later than March 28.
