Katrina Puri has joined the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s (ECCAC) board of directors.
She is an administrator for her husband Dr. Kapil Puri’s urology practice, and is active in raising money, toys and awareness for ECCAC throughout the community.
“I have a passion for fostering and mentoring kids who are in abusive situations with no one to help or listen to them,” Puri said. “My vision is to give children a glimmer of hope. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work with the ECCAC Board.”
Puri said she considers it her personal mission to help change the lives of abused and neglected children.
Puri was a weekly volunteer for Children In Crisis (CIC) from 2011 to 2015 and was recognized by CIC as an exceptional volunteer and awarded the Golden Deeds Award by the Emerald Coast National Exchange Club for her efforts there. She was also nominated by the CIC and recognized by The United Way as Volunteer of the Month. In addition, Katrina and Kapil Puri began fostering children five years ago and still continue to do so.
Puri also served as a Guardian Ad Litem during part of this time, then last year, she brought her foster child to ECCAC for services.
