DESTIN — Four people face charges after multiple complaints of drug-related activity at a home on Snapper Drive.

The arrests came after the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Section, which includes Fort Walton Beach and Crestview police, launched a narcotics investigation. The arrests were made Friday, according to the sheriff's office.

A search of Unit 11 at 206 Snapper Drive in Destin revealed prescription medications packaged for distribution along with methamphetamine and paraphernalia, according to news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Three people lived there. Joan Ruud, 40, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Preston Stanton, 28, had three active felony/misdemeanor arrest warrants and was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Karley Murrell, 25, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

The fourth person, 40-year-old Barney Shirah of Destin, was issued a notice to appear in court for possession of paraphernalia, the Shriff's Office said.
