MIRAMAR BEACH — Two women have been charged with shoplifting hundreds of dollars worth of items from Silver Sands Premium Outlets.

According to a press release from the Walton County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the Calvin Klein store July 31 regarding two women shoplifting there. The suspects were identified as Latrenda Washington of Cottondale and Natasha Couch of Marianna.

Surveillance cameras allegedly caught Couch ripping sensors off merchandise in the store, according to their arrest reports. Washington was also seen helping Couch select items. The stolen merchandise was placed in a plastic orange Nike bag. The approximate value of the items was $396 based on the price tags. A Silver Sands security officer positively identified Couch and Washington, according to the reports.

Deputies caught up with the two women, who later led them to multiple bags of stolen property stashed in a nearby business’s closet. Inside was property from Calvin Klein, Carters, Gap Factory Outlet, American Eagle and Journey’s located in Silver Sands. Property from Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, and other stores in Okaloosa County also were recovered, according to the Sheriff's Office.

While being taken to the Walton County Jail, Couch allegedly admitted ripping off the sensor of one clothing item. She said she did not give Washington the clothes to steal, but "laid clothes down for her to conceal," her arrest report said. She begged not to be arrested and said she would testify against Washington. She said it was Washington's idea to steal from Calvin Klein, the report said.

Washington already was on felony probation for grand theft out of Jackson County. She and Couch were charged with grand theft.
