Picnic in the Park
Grace Lutheran Church is holding a picnic at Clem-ent Taylor Park from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Clement Taylor Park in Destin. This is an opportunity for the community to get together and enjoy a meal. Bring something if you're able to share for the pot-luck meal. No pets or alcohol are allowed at the park. There will be unorganized games, soccer balls and such as well as games like cornhole and ladder golf. There will be singing for anyone interested.
Michael Janetis, co-founder and lead pastor of the now-forming Oceans Church in Miramar Beach and his wife, Jaime, are in the process of furthering the great commission of Jesus and bringing the culture of God’s Kingdom to Destin, according to the church website.
The first Interest Party for the church will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2 Birds Cafe, 80 Sea-scape Drive in Miramar Beach. This Interest Party will be open for all to come and hear about the vision of Oceans Church for Des-tin.
CIAN minister Mindy Fraelich will be the speaker at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Impact Life Church, 1201 U.S. Hwy. 98 in Destin. Her vision is a solution where the Holy Spirit within em-powers saints to live healthy and whole to fulfill the purposes of God. Paul and Sarah Schmidt will lead worship.
Find Your Greatness
Resurrection Catholic Church, 259 Miramar Beach Drive in Miramar Beach, will host Dynamic Catholic’s Find Your Greatness at 9 a.m. Oct. 6. Great habits create great lives. Are your habits helping you become the-best-version-of-yourself?

Trunk or Treat
The annual Trunk Or Treat Festival at Destin United Methodist Church is one of the largest family events in Destin. Kids dress up in costumes, no scary ones, and get to enjoy inflatables, candy from themed car trunks, popcorn, cotton candy, and more. The free event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 24 at 200 Beach Drive.
Light the Night
Village Baptist Church presents its annual Light the Night from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 28 at 101 Matthew Blvd. in Destin. There will be games, food, inflatables, giveaways, and more.
A community-wide amateur BBQ cook-off, HolySmokes! will be held from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the back lawn at Immanuel Anglican Church. BBQ tastings, live music, kids’ games and good food will be available for all. Proceeds benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Caregiver Support Group
Grace Lutheran Church is sponsoring a Christian support group that offers prayer, networking, educa-tion, resources, and Gospel support for anyone in a caregiving role. The Flying Pig
Need a little pick me up over the mid-week hump? Grab your favorite specialty coffee or spice up your lunch routine with a savory Tex-Mex lunch box. The Flying Pig at Shore-line Church, 140 Palmetto Street in Destin, is now serving breakfast and lunch Sundays through Thursdays. Café hours are 7:30-11 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch.
The Anchor Church, 101 First St SE in Fort Walton Beach, has a food pantry serving the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. People 18 and over are allowed one visit per month. A valid ID is required.

Overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups every Monday night at the Destin Life Center on Beach Drive.
