Delta Airlines has resumed flights to Panama City Beach Airport and other cities hit by Hurricane Michael.
The first flight arrived Friday morning in Panama City, the airline said. Delta doesn’t expect further disruption to flights, though schedule adjustments are possible.
Delta says it has shipped supplies such as portable chargers, satellite phones, generators and other hurricane supplies early this week to help storm victims, including 96 cases of water and nearly 3,000 pounds of perishable and non-perishable items.
Ahead of the storm, Delta issued waivers for travel, baggage and pet fees, in addition to capping fares from cities in the region to help customers looking to evacuate, the airline reported. It is the first to operate back into Panama City, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Albany, Georgia, and Dothan, Alabama, Delta said.
