Without a doubt it takes numbers for the Destin Fishing Rodeo to happen each year.

It takes a number of boats, a number of fishermen to haul in the many number of fish that are written on the leaderboard.

Here’s a look at just some of the numbers from this year’s 70th annual Destin Fishing Rodeo:

• Number of boats entered — 245

• Number pier, bridge, jetty and surf entries — 19

• Number of fish entries — 1,091

• Estimated number of total fish weighed in (including those that didn’t make the leaderboard or daily board) — 1,500

• Number of kids’ certificates that Miss Destin signed — 800

• Number of amberjack weighed — 172

• Number of Sparkling Ice bottles given away — 3,500

• Biggest fish — 145.2 pounds

• Smallest fish on the leaderboard — 1.4 pound flounder by a junior angler

• Number of T-shirts sold – Almost everything we had, according to Helen Donaldson, executive director of the Rodeo.
