Craft Bar to open in Uptown Station in January
FORT WALTON BEACH— Beer lovers rejoice. Local gastropub, The Craft Bar, is coming to Fort Walton Beach early next year.
Chan Cox, owner of local chains; (Chan's) Wine World, The Craft Bar and Wine Bar said this new location at Uptown Station is a homecoming of sorts.
“In 1982 I opened my second Chan’s Saloon and Eatery in Cinco Bayou,” he said. “From the day we opened that place, it just rocked.”
Cox said that the eatery was so popular that when it closed, a Facebook group was formed campaigning for its resurrection. The Craft Bar in Uptown Station, Cox said, is his long-awaited answer to that demand.
“One of the guys who is going to be managing our Craft Bar was the manager at the saloon and eatery,” Cox said. “I’m really excited about getting back there, seeing old friends and getting them back into our business.”
The Craft Bar specializes in craft beer, wine and food, and like the four other Craft Bar locations in the area, Cox said, this one will emulate the same prohibition-themed décor and handcrafted food and beverages.
“Craft is the key word, we don’t say that just for the heck of it,” Cox said. “We will have 30 draft beers on tap just like we have at all of our other locations, the same precision cocktails, wine selections, and a big back bar with a huge selection of craft spirits. We also have chef-inspired bar food, everything is highly fresh and handcrafted.”
The Craft Bar is set to open in mid-to-late January, 2019. When finished, the Uptown Station location will seat 90 with both indoor and outdoor seating and will be facing Eglin Parkway beside Wine World.
“We just look forward to serving the community,” Cox said. “We can’t wait to get back to Fort Walton.”
The Craft Bar Uptown Station will be located at 99 Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach. For more information visit https://thecraftbarfl.com/.
