DESTIN — The inaugural Destin Crafted festival was held at The Henderson Beach Resort Nov. 2-3, and the proceeds went to a good cause.

This craft beer, bourbon and food festival was organized by Wine World to raise funds for Children in Crisis Inc., a local nonprofit whose mission is to support and house children in Northwest Florida.

In December, Wine World donated $13,410 in festival proceeds to the charity.

“Our goal in partnering with The Henderson was to host an event unlike any other in the area," said Chan Cox, owner and founder of Wine World. "Wine World’s event expertise coupled with a gorgeous venue was the key, and the results were even more than we imagined. We are thrilled that our community and sponsors joined us at this fabulous resort to make this donation to the charity possible.”

Nearly 500 guests locals and visitors attended Destin Crafted. Events ranged from a VIP cocktail party on the sunset terrace Friday night to Saturday’s main festival on the pool deck at The Henderson. Celebrity distillers and brewers joined local restaurants and community sponsors over the weekend to provide a unique experience to fest-goers and enthusiasts.

“The event raised the bar high. It was the best one ever," said Ken Hair, president and CEO of Children in Crisis. "I can't thank everyone enough; Chan Cox, staff at Wine World and The Henderson, the sponsors, our volunteers and most importantly, the participants who came to enjoy the day. This supports our Children’s Neighborhood and improves the lives of the at-risk kids we take care of.”

The next Destin Crafted main event has been scheduled to return Saturday, Nov. 9 at The Henderson Beach Resort. Plans are underway to add new food and beverages for guests, as well as possibly expanding the event and adding extra activities. All proceeds will again benefit Children in Crisis Inc.
