Spotted Seatrout Workshop
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) needs your input on spotted seatrout management. The FWC will host a public workshop at 6 p.m. July 29 at the Destin Community Center, 101 Stahlman Ave. Learn about the current status of the seatrout fishery, staff’s proposal for future management and share your input by attending.

Floating Structure Meeting
Pursuant to section 286.011, Florida Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Okaloosa County Floating Structure Advisory Committee will convene at 1:30 p.m. on, Aug. 8 at the Okaloosa County Administration Building, 1250 Eglin Parkway N, Shalimar, FL 32579, in the Second Floor Property Appraiser’s Training Room. Okaloosa County Master Gardener Scott Berry will give a presentation on “Orchid Basics” from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 8 at the Niceville Senior Center, 201 Campbell Drive. In addition to some history, he’ll cover tips for buying an orchid and on its care once you’ve brought it home. Come and learn about these beautiful and fragrant flowers. Fall Destin Dolphin Cheerleading
The City of Destin is accepting registrations for its Fall Destin Dolphin Cheerleading program through Aug. 16 at the Destin Community Center. The program is designed for youth ages 5 through 9 years. The cost is $45/non-residents and $35/residents, plus the cost of a uniform. Ask about the used uniform program.
