CRESTVIEW — A man has been arrested for the Sept. 17 hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a Crestview man.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Crestview's Wilber Ray Heath, who was 71, died from injuries he suffered when he was hit by a car.
The driver, 47-year-old William Michael Boles, is charged with felony hit and run, failure to stop and remain at a crash involving death.
The release said Boles remains in custody on a $15,000 bond. He is also being held without bond on a separate charge of violation of probation.
According to the press release from Florida Highway Patrol, Boles failed to observe Heath walking in the road.
After hitting Heath, Boles continued to the travel east on Highway 90. Heath was pronounced dead on scene.
