A 33-year-old man was found dead of a single gunshot wound in a van outside a trailer at 1836 N. East Avenue in Panama City.
PANAMA CITY — The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of man shot in Panama City on Sunday.
According to a Monday press release, Jesus Ivan Barreiro-Cruz, 33, was found dead of a single gunshot wound in a van outside a trailer at 1836 N. East Avenue in Panama City.

The sheriff’s office responded to a call at about 8:15 a.m. on Sunday about an unresponsive man in a vehicle. Deputies found the Barreiro-Cruz slumped in the driver seat of the van, the press release states. He was found cold to the touch.
BCSO Criminal Investigations was called to the scene to investigate and a crime unit was also called to conduct a forensic examination.
At this time, investigators believe the homicide was not a random act, but an isolated incident, the press release states. The investigation is ongoing.
