Three people were injured during the crash. They were taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, according to Michele Nicholson, public information officer for the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

DESTIN — Four vehicles, including two trucks from the Destin Fire Control District, were involved in a crash Thursday near the intersection of Airport Road and U.S. Highway 98 when another driver failed to stop, according to Fire Control Chief Kevin Sasser.


At about 4:45 p.m. a vehicle rear-ended a Ford Explorer, which started the chain reaction. The SUV hit a Fire District beach truck and the beach truck then hit a fire truck, according to Sasser.


Three people were injured in the crash. They were taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, according to Michele Nicholson, public information officer for the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.


One of the three injured was a firefighter, who was driven to the hospital, Nicholson said. The other two people injured were taken by ambulance.


According to OSCO, the pileup caused "disabling damage" to three of the vehicles, with the exception of the fire truck.


The accident is under investigation and no charges had been filed as of late Friday afternoon.
